tips: why not
Drawing, painting, and artistic expression all began as soon as I was able to hold a crayon. Sketchbooks and rows of colored pencils and felt tip markers were prized childhood possessions. My medium is now a computer screen instead of a tablet and a mouse in place of a marker, but the personal satisfaction is just as great. September of 2004 brought me to a real estate company where I applied my design skills to helping people buy and sell homes.
The past seven years have evolved from simply designing products to offering marketing guidance. As I began to help a client drill down to the real message their product should convey, I realized that graphic design is much more than just attractive shapes and colors. It is a message – a message that must be conveyed quickly, clearly. As I refined my approach to design, I also looked for clean methods to convey the obvious message (the event) as well as the strong subliminal message (the company). As clients returned over and over for more products, together we developed products that strengthened their image and brand.
Though this blog is new, my graphic design experience is not. It became apparent to me that others could benefit from what I have learned and the information that I have shared with others throughout the years. With a little time, this blog will become a chest of ideas and tips. Your comments and questions are welcome!
